Planning my Road Trip
First I went to Google Maps.

​Then I found 10 places on the map preferably a journey you might make and calculated I have travelled 89.8 km
The landmarks I visited are:

Jenny Odell Research
Jenny Odell made a trip across America without leaving her house. The process in how she did this was to photoshop herself as best as she could into pictures on these places in Google Street View. After wandering about on Google Maps she would then research the locations on photo databases such as Panoramio, Picasa and Flickr as well as checking review sites such as Yelp and TripAdvisor. It took her 2 months to research the journey and it would take her a full year to do the trip if she did do it in real life. She said that each part of the journey has to be physically possible, for food, gas and a place to stay. She would use photoshop to edit herself into the pictures from the photo databases but not edit the original pictures themselves. In the time it took her to research it, changes had happened in the real world such as a hotel that she would have stayed at was closed down. At the end of it all, she would cite every piece of information from all the websites she used.
The method Jenny Odell used was to alter the photos of herself to match the source photo, for example the lighting, changing shadows. Jenny did not alter the source photo as firstly, it could be copyrighted and if Jenny edited the source photo it could change the way the scene looked, such as unusual lighting.
Jenny Odell used Adobe Photoshop because it suited her needs for the project whereas other software are more limited in comparison. Also, Photoshop is more well known and easily accessible, which means it is easy to understand and learn. Photoshop is known for editing photos because it is the only professional photo editing software that people can use and edit and add to photos in detail. Another reason as to why Jenny Odell used photoshop was to make her edited photos look realistic compared with the modern day social media where photos are edited through phones and is usually obviously fake, which would defeat the purpose of Jenny Odell’s idea.
The trip I would like to take would be to Florida, California because I am interested in movies and would like to see universal studios which is where they have a Harry Potter theme park and I am a Harry Potter fan. Another part of universal studios I would like to visit is the Jaws part where you can go on a Jaws ride and visit Jaws the shark. I would also like to visit Disney World as they have the Marvel Campus where you can meet the characters from the films and go on various rides. Also, I think that Florida would be an interesting place to visit from the stories I have heard on YouTube. Another reason is that, Florida is supposedly always very sunny and hot and there is a lot more things to do in Florida that interest me. I would also like to visit the deserts in Florida so that I can experience riding on the camel and I enjoy really hot weather.
